NO NO NO no no no no no NO NO no NO. Okay, I just have to get this out and over with. I’m sorry if you’re the author of the story, or if the author is reading this; please understand I mean no offense.

I’ve been avoiding saying this because I didn’t want to offend anyone, but I am NOT a fan of the more direct Homestuck branchoffs (sometimes referred to as “trollstucks”). I’ve been putting off saying I won’t do them, but they’re filling up my inbox, and I just can’t ignore the growing number of request for things like Datastuck and Be the Seadweller Lowblood.

I do not plan on giving out achievements to Homestuck derivatives, unless they are original to the point where I do not recognize Homestuck in them, as is the case with adventures such as STuCK, which, although it follows the basic format of Homestuck, has an original cast of characters who don’t remind me of any of the ones in Homestuck. I already read Homestuck. That is enough Homestuck for me. Any Homestuck-related achievements have already been earned by Homestuck.

I’m not saying Homestuck derivatives not valid MSPAFAs, and I do recognize there are some good ones. I gave A Complete Waste of Time a shot at one point and found it tolerable, although I couldn’t bring myself to complete it, stopping shortly after that tea party bit. They’re simply not in my interest area.

So, to summarize: you’re free to suggest Homestuck derivatives, but if I only see Homestuck in them, I’m just ignoring the request.

Nope. An adventure’s gotta earn these puppies all on its lonesome. Except in extremely rare instances, you won’t see me handing out achievements for something someone who wasn’t the author did.
